Throughout the month dedicated to walks in the capital, I will show you first how to discover Paris from different perspectives.

You will tell me with a city with such an architectural wealth, it is obvious and more interesting to observe it from a different perspective rather than from a traditional postcard, and fortunately, the city of Paris allows us that.

Monday, I advised you a small route along the banks. Today I invite you to discover directly Paris from the Seine. In addition, if you are fan of stories, the great advantage of this kind of trip is that you will be accompanied by a guide!

Paris is full of companies that offer to tourists (and to local people) to visit the city on a ship. They are all fairly similar, and all depend on the section of the city that you want to see first. Each district has its own history, there are not really many places that worth more than others, then your decision will be most certainly made on a crush, a personal preference or attachment to certain places of Paris.

In the list of companies offering boat tours:

The most famous is the Bâteaux Parisiens from the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame. The tour is guided.

You can eat in for lunch and dinner

Some practical information:

From April to September, starts from 10.00am to 10.30pm every 30 minutes. No departures at 1.30pm and 7.30pm.

From October to March: Departures from 10.00am to 10.00pm, every hour at least.

For simple visit, it costs € 13 for adults, € 5 for children under 12 and free for children under 3.

The real advantage of this company? If you have children, the Bâteaux Parisiens offer fun and guided tours. Indeed, the visit is made entirely by two professional actors who play goblins Lila and Philou, and allow to your children to learn while having fun. (Departure Port de la Bourdonnais).

Another boat, another visit, The Compagnie de la Seine, which offers cruises in the evening only. Boarding is at the foot of the Pont St Michel and the tour lasts one hour.

Some practical information:

Notre Dame – Ile Saint Louis

Every day, departure 6.15pm, 8.00pm and 9.30pm. Friday and Saturday at 11.30pm.

Exclusivity: the company also introduced the first brunch cruise in Paris every Sunday (boarding at 12.30am return 2.30pm), and this is a real treat.

To navigate to the northeast of Paris to the Quais de Seine, I recommend you Paris Canal or Canauxrama. La Villette, the Canal Saint Martin … much more intimate and romantic tours, the crossing of locks, surrounded by greenery!

Some practical information:

Paris Canal: the visit lasts 2h30. From 9.30am to 12.15am: From the Musée d’Orsay to Parc de la Villette.

From 2.30pm to 5.00pm: From the Parc de la Villette to the Musée d’Orsay. € 19 for adults, € 16 for 12-25 and seniors, € 12 for 4-11 and free for children under 4.

Canauxrama: Departure every day without reservation at 9.45am and 2.45pm. € 16 for adults, € 12 for students and senior, € 8.50 for 4-12 and free for children under 4
