You read our article about the urban wanderings in Paris and enjoyed the Place des Vosges ? So don’t leave the area without having visited a beautiful garden hidden from the public sight and doing the link between Place des Vosges and rue Saint Antoine : the beautiful jardin de l’hôtel de Sully (48, rue Saint Antoine – on the right bank – 4th arrondissement – now National monuments centre).
Still not that far from place des Vosges, go have a look at the jardin Saint-Gilles-Grand-Veneur (9 rue Grand Veneur – 3rd arrondissement, in Le Marais – Metropolitan stop Chemin Vert) also hidden at the end of a street labyrinth. Roses’ lovers will be delighted by this garden composed with rose arbours. It is a romantic area to visit in the old town of Paris.
For your own information, these two beautiful gardens are located at the vicinity of our hotel Le 123 Sébastopol.
Another garden ideally located nearby our hotels the Joke, the George Opera and the Lorette Opera will allow you to “go green” the time of a walk. This place is the Square Alex Biscarre (9th arrondissement – Metropolitan stop Saint-Georges), nearby Place Saint-Georges and old garden of the wonderful hotel particulier Dosne-Thiers. It is a perfect place to let your children run riot while relaxing on a bench.
Concerning the hotels Caumartin Opéra and Astra Opéra, enjoy the proximity to the famous jardin des Tuileries (Paris right bank – 1st arrondissement) to have a walk and sunbathe lying on the lawn-chairs available in the garden. There you could also have a meal at the garden’s restaurant, read a book comfortably sitting in one of the alleys of the gardens, have fun and take picture with the goat « in charge of » the lawn, or admire far from your seat the hustle and bustle of the city with the Tour Eiffel, the musée du Louvre, the arc de Triomphe and the La Défense as background. From this garden you could also easily head to the berges de Seine and enjoy the activities available there thanks to the easy access to the Solférino footbridge (read our article Paris at the water’s edge). Kids could have fun thank to the garden’s marry-go-round or the wooden ships available for rental.
This last activity is also available in the jardin du Luxembourg (Left bank – 6th arrondissement – RER B stop at Jardin du Luxembourg). Even if located further on the other bank of the river, the Jardin du Luxembourg is worth a visit. Here also you could relax on a bench or a lawn-chair available in the garden while you friends and relatives will be playing tennis, bocce or chess and your kids will be invading the playground. Here there is something for all tastes and ages!
Nearby our hotels Le 123 Elysées and Bradford Elysées (but also the hotel Saint Augustin Elysées when it will be reopen), « go green » and escape for a few hours the crowded Champs-Elysées in the the beautiful parc Monceau (35 boulevard de Courcelles – 8ème arrondissement – Metropolitan stops Villiers or Courcelles). There you could walk, run, sunbathe or read a book comfortable sitting behind the colonnade facing the pond. Otherwise, you could also head south to the Grand Palais and enjoy the much less known (even by Parisians) jardin de la Nouvelle France.
Finally, facing the Tour Eiffel or the Invalides, enjoy the Champ de Mars and the esplanade des Invalides (Paris rive gauche – 7ème arrondissement) precious landmarks of the Parisian landscape. There, relax and enjoy a picnic with your friends and relatives while admiring the spectacular view on the wonderful surrounding monuments (Grand Palais, Invalides, Tour Eiffel, Trocadéro, etc.).
Little tip: The weather is getting covered during your stay?
Please note that all those beautiful gardens are all located nearby stunning hotels particuliers or famous museums to visit!
